  1. Add methods to read Inventory Adjustments created in QBO UI

When the user adjusts QOH for the items in QBO, there is no way to get information about this transaction via API. For Inventory management applications it is a critical feature to maintain the correct QOH levels.

  2. Mechanism to delete or reset a sandbox

There NEEDS to be a way to delete a sandbox, or reset all the data to be up to date using a more current date range. The inability to do so SIGNIFICANTLY hinders our ability to develop against the QBO APIs.

  3. Support associating PurchaseOrders and Bills

Support writing to LinkedTxn when updating a PurchaseOrder or Bill, so it's possible to associate them with each other through the API as done through the UI.

  4. Expose a QBO Health API using that developers can handle service outages

In a case of any service outage, all sync jobs(configured in an app) fail. It is not always possible to monitor the status page. A QBO health API would help developers to handle service outages programmatically.

  5. Improve and expand Data Query supported operators

The current list of supported operators is extremely limited. To acheive a negative filter, we have to take a hacky approach of instead listing all positive matches using "in ('item1','item2','item3'...)", or where that is unfeasible (e.g. the full list of matching terms is unknown), we have to retrieve all values and then filter the result set manually, which results in really inefficient and clunky code, as well as network overheads since potentially large amounts of unwanted data is being transferred only to be immediately filtered/discarded.

Please expand the list of supported operators to allow for the following:

    != or <> …

  6. Full unicode support for query

Queries currently seems to be able to take 2 unicode characters and not more.

    Example:

    Item name: 波士頓嫩豬肩肉排 Pulled Pork

Query: SELECT * FROM Item WHERE Name LIKE '%pork'
    Response: item found

Query: SELECT * FROM Item WHERE Name LIKE '波士%'
    Response: item found

Query: SELECT * FROM Item WHERE Name LIKE '波士頓%'
Error: QueryParserError: Invalid content. Lexical error at line 1, column 39. Encountered: \"\\u9813\" (38931), after : \"\\'\\u6ce2\\u58eb\"

  7. Support OAuth2 for desktop applications

OAuth2 is meant to accommodate various workflows, and one of the ones that we need is the ability for our desktop application to connect with our customers' QuickBooks Online accounts. Adding support for that without requiring a publicly-visible Redirect URI would ease deployments tremendously. The IETF has a draft best practice here:
    https://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-ietf-oauth-native-apps-12
and Google outlines their approach here:
    https://developers.google.com/identity/protocols/OAuth2InstalledApp

    Thank you!

  8. Merge Entity

There is a real need for a “Merge” feature (where we can request that Customer “John, Smith” merges into “Johnny, Smith” and moves all transactions over to them. We do this in QB Desktop, just can’t do it on QBO.

Not only can we not initiate the request, we can’t really hear that the request has happened manually in the interface. We can detect that an entity was deleted, but we don't know where they were moved to.

It creates a real problem as a CRM, as you can imagine as it users get garbage data.

  9. Deep Link Transactions

Deep linking to transactions (Invoices, Journal Entries, Payments, Deposits, Transfers, etc.) would be extremely useful. It seems as though you're already almost there.

You have the /login?deeplinkcompanyid={Company ID} endpoint for directing users to the appropriate company.

You have the /app/{Transaction Type}?txnId={Transaction ID} endpoint for pulling up the transaction.

If your web app could take the deep linked realm ID, a transaction type, and transaction ID, prompt the user for login to the appropriate realm if necessary, and redirect them to the transaction upon login, then we'd have it done! Makes the interface a lot nicer for clients within the 3rd…

  10. Add ability to send PO to vendor via API

Now it's impossible to send PO to the vendor via API. I see that such requests were raised two years ago and still not implemented. At least add the ability to gather PDF document of the PO via API so we could send it ourselves.

  11. Provide a way to get Payments using the LinkedTxn

Add ability to query payments for an invoiceId. This was available in the previous API but for some reason it has been deprecated. This would be helpful to reconcile payments in my application with those in QBO.

  13. Additional users on developer account

I have a developer working for me but no way to add him as a user on my dev account? And since the password is shared with my quickbooks, I can't even give him my password because it will give him access to my quickbooks.

  15. When creating BillPayments, allow Deposits to be a linked transaction

Using the QBO interface, when making a payment on a bill (creating a bill payment), you are able to link vendor credits and deposits via the linked transaction process. Unfortunately, when creating a BillPayment object via the API, you can not link a Deposit to the BillPayment. This feature would improve the API and make it more consistent with what the user expects from the QBO UI.

  16. Improve the Audit Trail Report in QBO to account for data chages by API calls

The QBO Audit Trail Report should show the AppName for any Create, Read, Update or Delete operations that an app has performed.

On the surface READ seams like overkill, but Accountants and Small Business Owners should have insight to which Apps are reading their QuickBooks Online data and how often it is happening.

  17. Add an API call to return the logo or company image for the QuickBooks Company

Add the ability to pull the binary image or logo for the QuickBooks Online customer, enabling the developer app to use the proper logo within the app.

  18. Retrieve LinkedTxn data via QBO V3 API

When querying the QBO API V3, for an invoice, incomplete data is returned.

If an additional pre-existing charge is added to the invoice using the QBO web interface, future queries of that invoice via the API will show those charges as a LinkedTxn.

    <LinkedTxn>
    <TxnId>40096</TxnId>
    <TxnType>StatementCharge</TxnType>
    </LinkedTxn>

This shows nothing about the charge (specifically description and amount).

The total of the invoice reflects the all charges, and returns some line charges, but the Linked transactions details are not provided.

Please enable querying of ReimbCharge, ChargeCredit, or StatementCharge via the QBO V3 API.

If only one can be done, my focus…

  20. Provide a mechanism to import a budget into QuickBooks Online via the API or an import file.

My company provides software to facilitate budget creation for QBO clients that have multiple users who need to develop their sub-budgets. At the end of this process, there is no way to then import the final budget into QBO. We can read a QBO budget via the API but cannot import one into QBO>
